Indulge in quick and delightful apple fritters for a sweet treat in 10 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 150.00 gm self-raising flour
  • 0.63 gm bicarbonate of soda
  • 250.00 ml soda water, chilled
  • 107.50 gm caster sugar
  • 2.50 gm ground cinnamon
  • 2 large pink lady apples
  • Vegetable oil, for shallow-frying
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice-cream, to serve
  • 110.55 gm golden syrup, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, gently sift the flour and bicarbonate of soda. Slowly pour in the soda water while whisking continuously until a velvety batter is created.
  • Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Peel and core the apples, then slice into thick rounds.
  • In a large, deep frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Dip 1 apple slice in batter, letting excess drip off, then add to the oil. Repeat with 3 more apple slices. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until golden. Use a slotted spoon to transfer fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain briefly. Coat with cinnamon sugar, then transfer to a plate. Repeat process with the remaining apple slices, batter, and sugar.
  • Plate fritters, add a scoop of ice cream on top, drizzle with golden syrup, and enjoy!
