Apple Cinnamon Popovers with real apples and irresistible brown sugar butter.
Ingredients:
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups finely chopped peeled apples
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. Grease 10 (4-oz) heatproof pottery custard cups or muffin cups generously with butter. If using custard cups, place them on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven before adding the batter.
  • Combine all Popover ingredients in a large bowl until smooth, then fold in the apples. Fill the hot cups almost to the top with the batter.
  • Bake for 50 minutes without opening the oven door.
  • After 50 minutes in the oven, take out the popovers and make several slits on the top of each. Bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, thoroughly combine the ingredients for the Brown Sugar Butter mixture.
  • Remove popovers from cups right away and serve warm with Brown Sugar Butter.
