Indulge in the aroma of baked apples and cinnamon with our irresistible Apple Crisp. This classic recipe features a generous layer of crisp apples coated in cinnamon and sugar, topped with golden streusel. Get ready for your family to gather around eagerly as it bakes to golden perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut in pieces
  • 6 cups chopped (3/4-inch pieces) peeled tart apples (6 medium)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and generously coat an 8-inch square (2-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Combine 3/4 cup flour, oats, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl. Use a fork or pastry blender to cut in cold butter until mixture is crumbly. Avoid overmixing and set aside.
  • Combine the Filling ingredients in a large bowl until everything is well coated, then spread the mixture evenly in a baking dish. Top with a sprinkle of streusel.
  • Bake until the topping is beautifully golden brown and the juices are bubbling around the edges, about 30-35 minutes.
  • Allow the dish to chill for a minimum of 20 minutes prior to serving.
