Bake golden brown and bubbly apple crisp with oats for a simple, fragrant fall dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 6 apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup cold butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix apples with white sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon until coated. Transfer the mixture to a 9-inch square baking dish.
  • Combine brown sugar, oats, flour, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a separate bowl. Utilize 2 knives or a pastry blender to cut in cold butter until the mixture has a coarse crumb texture. Evenly spread over the apples and gently press down.
  • Bake until golden brown with bubbly sides in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
