Delicious apple crisp with cinnamon-sugar coating, made with Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for a perfect autumn treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 8 apples
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) and generously grease an 8-inch square pan.
  • Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, egg, and baking powder until a cornmeal-like mixture forms.
  • Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them, then toss them with 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon. Place the apples in the pan. Spread the flour mixture over the apples. Combine 1/4 cup sugar with the remaining 1 tablespoon cinnamon and sprinkle it over the top of the crisp. Finish by drizzling melted butter over everything.
  • Bake until the top is golden and the fruit is bubbling, usually about 1 hour in a preheated oven. Serve while warm.
