Indulge in a cozy winter treat with this make-ahead condensed milk apple crumble dessert. Layers of caramelized apples in golden syrup, topped with a crunchy crumble. Serve warm with ice cream for a comforting finale to any meal.
Ingredients:
  • 390g pkt Dessert Mix Condensed Milk Pudding
  • 40g unsalted butter, chopped, plus 80g, extra, melted
  • 395g can sweetened condensed milk
  • 400g can pie fruit apple slices, drained
  • 1 egg
  • 160ml (2/3 cup) milk
  • Vanilla ice-cream, to serve
  • 40g (1/4 cup) plain flour
  • 30g butter, chilled, chopped
  • 35g (1/3 cup) rolled oats
  • 24.00 gm brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 180OC/160OC fan forced. Grease a 1.5L (6 cup) ovenproof dish with butter and place in a roasting pan. In a saucepan, combine golden syrup sachet, chopped butter, and condensed milk. Cook over medium-low heat for 2 minutes until butter melts and darkens slightly. Pour sauce into dish and top with apples.
  • For the crumble topping, combine flour and butter in a bowl. Using your fingertips, rub the butter into the flour until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Then mix in the oats and sugar.
  • In a bowl, combine Taste pudding mix, egg, milk, and extra butter until just mixed. Pour the mixture evenly over the apple and smooth the surface. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the pudding.
  • Fill the pan halfway up the side of the dish with boiling water. Bake for 50 minutes or until the pudding is firm to the touch. Enjoy with a side of ice cream.
