Indulge in the ultimate dessert combo: apple Danish meets custard slice for a delectable treat.
Ingredients:
  • 400g Apple Danish
  • 30.00 gm custard powder
  • 53.75 gm caster sugar
  • 175ml (3/4 cup) cream
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) caramel top n fill
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) thickened cream
  • 3.00 gm powdered gelatin
Instructions:
  • Follow the directions on the packet to bake the apple danish, then place it in a 20cm x 10cm loaf pan.
  • In a large saucepan, combine custard powder, sugar, and 50ml of milk to create a smooth paste. Gradually stir in the rest of the milk and cream. Heat over medium heat, whisking constantly until it boils. Cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, then remove from heat. Spread the custard over the Danish gently to create an even layer. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour or until firm.
  • Prepare caramel topping: Gently warm caramel and thickened cream in a small saucepan over low heat. Once warmed, remove from heat. In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in 1 tablespoon boiling water, then mix it into the caramel. Stir occasionally until the mixture has cooled. Pour the caramel topping over the custard, refrigerate for 1 hour until set, and serve by cutting into slices.
