Total Time:
Moist and flavorful Apple Dapple Cake loaded with apple chunks, raisins, coconut, and walnuts.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups diced apple without peel
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and prepare a 10-inch tube pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, oil, and softened butter. Use an electric mixer to beat until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla. Gradually incorporate flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Fold in apples, coconut, raisins, and walnuts. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 90 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then carefully invert onto a serving plate or cooling rack after loosening the edges with a table knife.
  • As the cake cools, prepare the glaze by boiling brown sugar, butter, and milk in a saucepan. Stir continuously for 1 minute to blend.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the cake while it is still warm.
