Prepare in advance: delicious flaky croissants and brown sugar baked apples make a perfect breakfast duo for any special occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, diced
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 6 small croissants, torn in bite-size pieces
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and generously spray a 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish with baking spray.
  • Sauté apples with sugars in a skillet until apples are tender and sugar is caramelized. Stir in vanilla and remove from heat.
  • Combine butter with fragrant cinnamon and ginger in a small bowl while allowing the apples to cook.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, Bisquick® mix, and melted butter. Gently fold in croissant pieces and let them soak while apples are cooking.
  • Combine the prepared apples with the soaked croissants, stirring well. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  • Bake for 45 minutes until piping hot and ready to serve.
