Impress your guests with a delicious apple galette made with spiced apples and flaky puff pastry. Top it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, rolled to 1/8-inch thickness
  • 4 baking apples - peeled, cored, and cut into 1/3-inch thick slices
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 0.33333334326744 cup superfine sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 egg, well beaten
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Place the puff pastry onto a round pizza pan.
  • Toss apples with lemon juice, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until coated. Place apple mixture onto puff pastry, fold edges towards the center, and brush with half of the egg.
  • Chill the pastry-apple mixture to enhance flavors and allow the pastry to settle for 10 minutes in the refrigerator. Afterward, brush the pastry with the remaining half of the beaten egg.
  • - Bake the galette on the top rack of the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then, give it a 1/4 turn, reduce the heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking until the pastry is lightly browned, for another 8 to 10 minutes. Let it cool slightly for about 10 minutes before serving.
