Layer homemade apple pie filling in a flaky crust, top with another layer of crust, and bake until golden brown.
Ingredients:
  • 10 medium apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 (14.1 ounce) package pastry for double-crust pie
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it to the perfect temperature for your dish.
  • In a large pot over low heat, gently simmer apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until tender but still slightly firm, stirring often, for 8 to 12 minutes.
  • Line the 9-inch pie pan with one pie pastry, fill with apple mixture, top with remaining pastry, seal edges, and make steam vents on top.
  • Bake until the crust turns a rich golden brown in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
