Overnight French toast casserole: prep ahead, bake mornings, top with maple syrup and raisins.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (1 pound) loaf cinnamon raisin bread, cubed
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, diced
  • 1 cup diced peeled apples
  • 8 eggs
  • 2.5 cups half-and-half cream
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup
Instructions:
  • Prepare the 9x13 inch baking dish by generously coating it with cooking spray. Layer half of the cubed raisin bread at the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle the cream cheese evenly over the bread and place the apples on top. For extra sweetness, feel free to add more raisins now. Finish by adding the remaining cubed bread on top.
  • Combine eggs, cream, butter, and maple syrup in a bowl. Pour over bread mixture and press down with plastic wrap to ensure all pieces are soaked. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for the perfect bake.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, then allow to stand for 10 minutes before serving.
