Celebrate with these delightful kids' party treats!
Ingredients:
  • 20g butter, softened, for greasing
  • 4 granny smith apples
  • 62.50 ml hundreds and thousands
  • 62.50 ml natural flaked almonds, crushed
  • 16.25 gm shredded coconut
  • 3 x 200g packets butterscotch lollies
Instructions:
  • Prepare a large baking tray by lining it with parchment paper and gently greasing it with butter.
  • Cut each apple in half through the stem, then cut each half into 3 wedges. Remove the core from each wedge using a small sharp knife. Insert 1 ice-cream stick into the base of each apple wedge to create a 'smile'.
  • Prepare bowls with colorful hundreds and thousands, crunchy almonds, and flaky coconut, each in their own bowl.
  • Unwrap the butterscotch lollies and place them in a small saucepan. Pour 1 1/2 tablespoons of cold water over them. Heat over medium heat and stir constantly for 10 minutes until the lollies have melted and the mixture is boiling.
  • Gently pat dry apple wedges with a paper towel. Dip each apple 'smile' into toffee, then into hundreds and thousands for a light coating. Place on a prepared tray and let sit for 20 minutes to set. Serve when ready.
