Irresistibly moist pumpkin spice bread bursting with cozy flavors, made with applesauce for a delightful twist. Ideal for spreading holiday cheer.
Ingredients:
  • 3.5 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1.5 tablespoons ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 (15 ounce) can solid-pack pumpkin
  • 0.5 cup water
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease 2 loaf pans with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, baking soda, salt, and baking powder until well blended.
  • In a large bowl, mix together brown sugar, white sugar, applesauce, and eggs. Stir in the pumpkin until well combined. Alternate adding the flour mixture and water, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Divide the batter evenly between the loaf pans.
  • Bake the loaves in the preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
