Spice up family dinner with easy, flavorful Asian chicken drummettes appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 1 package (3 pounds) frozen chicken drummettes, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oriental chili-garlic sauce or chili puree with garlic
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Pat dry the thawed drummettes with paper towels, then place them in a large bowl. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle with flour. Toss until well combined (mixture will be crumbly).
  • Place the drummettes in a single layer in an ungreased 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch rectangular pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes until they are crisp and golden brown.
  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer the browned drummettes to a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker. Combine 1 tablespoon of butter with hoisin sauce and chili-garlic sauce, then pour over drummettes and toss gently to coat.
  • Slow cook covered until drummettes are no longer pink in the center, about 1 to 2 hours. Drummettes can be kept warm for up to 2 hours on low heat setting.
