Asian Turkey Burgers

Whip up delicious Asian-style broiled turkey burgers using whole wheat buns and veggies for a quick and hearty family meal! Ready in only 25 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
  • 4 medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki marinade and sauce (from 10-oz bottle)
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 8 slices cucumber or 4 thin slices red bell pepper
  • 4 leaves leaf lettuce
Instructions:
  • Preheat the broiler. Combine turkey, water chestnuts, onions, teriyaki sauce, and pepper in a medium bowl. Form the mixture into 4 patties that are roughly 1/2 inch thick and place them on a rack in the broiler pan.
  • Broil the patties with the tops about 6 inches from the heat for 4 minutes. Flip the patties and continue to cook for 6 to 8 more minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the patties reads 165°F.
  • Assemble the patties in buns along with crisp cucumber slices and fresh lettuce leaves.
