Christmas Aussie Snack House: Twiggy sticks, Burger Rings, Chicken Crimpy Shapes, and cheese - a festive treat like no other!
Ingredients:
  • 250g cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 x 40g packet French onion soup mix
  • 2 x 125g packets sesame and sea salt grissini breadsticks
  • 5-6 twiggy sticks
  • 8 thin slices pepperoni
  • Small rectangle piece tasty cheese
  • 8 pimento-stuffed green olives
  • 1 Cheds biscuit, halved
  • 5 mini Chicken Crimpy biscuits
  • 2 Burger Rings
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Finely grated parmesan cheese, to dust
Instructions:
  • Combine the cream cheese and soup mix in a medium bowl until smooth and creamy. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and snip off a small piece at the tip to use.
  • Cut 10 grissini sticks into 12cm lengths and 10 sticks into 10cm lengths. Pipe a layer of the cream cheese mixture on a board and top with a 12cm grissini stick. Add 4 more sticks to form one side of the house. Repeat with the 10cm sticks for the back. Use cream cheese to attach sticks on the inside for support. Continue building the remaining sides and front in the same manner.
  • Trim the remaining breadsticks into 4 smaller pieces, forming a gable shape at the front and back of the house. Secure them in place with the cream cheese mixture shown in the picture.
  • Lay a long breadstick horizontally on top of the house. Follow the picture to arrange halved twiggy sticks and breadsticks in an alternating pattern to create the roof, and fasten them in place with the cream cheese mixture.
  • Cut the pepperoni in half and place on top of the roof. Thinly slice four olives. Spread cream cheese on top of the pepperoni and garnish with olives. Cut a tasty cheese rectangle at an angle to create a chimney and place it on the roof. Attach a Cheds biscuit to the front for the door and two Chicken Crimpy biscuits on the side for windows. Use Burger Rings and sliced olives to create windows on the front of the house.
  • Cut the remaining olives in half. Insert 4 small sprigs of rosemary into the halved olives to create ‘trees’ and arrange them alongside the house. Create ‘wood piles’ by cutting a twiggy stick into thin pieces. Shape a small sprig of rosemary into a wreath and place it over the doorway. Use the cream cheese mixture to pipe a doorknob and create ‘smoke’ on the chimney. Fill any empty spaces with the remaining cream cheese mixture and pipe on ‘icicles’.
  • Sprinkle on finely grated parmesan and arrange the remaining Chicken Crimpy biscuits as stepping stones.
