Celebrate with unique Elvis-inspired cheeseburgers featuring peanut butter, bacon, and pickles - a flavorful twist on a classic favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 thick slices bacon
  • 1 onion, chopped - or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 teaspoons peanut butter
  • 4 teaspoons ketchup, or to taste
  • 1 large dill pickle, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
Instructions:
  • Shape the ground beef into 4 patties, and season with a sprinkle of salt and black pepper before setting aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until evenly browned, turning occasionally, for about 10 minutes. Place the bacon slices on paper towels to drain and keep warm. In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, cook the onion until lightly browned for about 10 minutes. Stir often and sprinkle with sugar, if desired. Set the onion aside.
  • Position the oven rack 6 inches below the broiler and preheat the broiler.
  • Place hamburger buns, cut sides up, on a baking sheet and toast under the broiler until golden, for 1 to 2 minutes. Set aside.
  • Pan fry ground beef patties with onions until beautifully browned and juices run clear, 5 to 8 minutes on each side. Ensure a juicy bite by checking the internal temperature to reach at least 160°F (70°C). Top each patty with a slice of Cheddar cheese and watch it melt irresistibly.
  • Spread a generous layer of creamy peanut butter on the bottom halves of the buns and evenly coat the top halves with tangy ketchup. Layer pickle slices, cooked onions, cheese-topped burgers, crispy bacon, juicy tomato slices, and approximately 1/4 cup of shredded lettuce on each sandwich.
