Savory bacon and sweet candied sugar elevate cheddar biscuits in this addictive 4-ingredient snack. For a sweet twist, replace biscuits with sea salt crackers and drizzle chocolate. Store in airtight container for 2 days - but good luck not devouring them sooner!
Ingredients:
  • 6 Streaky Bacon rashers, cut into 1cm-thick slices, crossways
  • 16 Arnott’s Cheds Cheese Crackers
  • 100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
  • 75g Unsalted Butter, chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 180C/160C fan-forced. Cook bacon in a pan on medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes until lightly golden. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel to drain.
  • Line a 20 x 30cm slice pan with baking paper, allowing the paper to overhang the 2 long sides. Layer the crackers in a single layer over the base of the pan, trimming to fit.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter with sugar, stirring until combined. Bring to a boil, then cook and stir occasionally for 1 minute until slightly thickened.
  • Drizzle the sweet sugar mixture over the crackers and layer with crispy bacon. Gently press the bacon into the sugar mixture using a knife or fork. Bake until the sugar is bubbling, approximately 5 minutes. Let it cool for 20 minutes until reaching room temperature. Finish by removing from the pan and breaking into delectable squares for serving. Be sure to check out our step-by-step video for the irresistible Bacon Salted Caramel Crack recipe.
