Gourmet bacon cheeseburgers with green onion and tangy steak sauce - a pub-style favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 4 thick bacon strips, cut into small pieces
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.66666668653488 cup diced green onions
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 4 tablespoons steak sauce (such as A1®)
  • 4 slices sharp or mild Cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
Instructions:
  • Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-low heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  • Get your outdoor grill ready by preheating it to a medium heat of 300-325 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly oiling the grate.
  • Divide ground beef into 1/4-pound portions. Combine bacon and green onions in a bowl, then evenly blend into the ground beef. Shape into patties. Mix garlic salt and black pepper, rub onto patties, and press a small indentation into the center of each patty.
  • Start by grilling the burgers and adding 1/2 tablespoon of steak sauce into each indentation. After 5 minutes, flip the burgers, add another 1/2 tablespoon of steak sauce to the center of each one, and place a slice of Cheddar cheese on top. Continue grilling until the cheese melts and the burger reaches your preferred level of doneness, usually about 4 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the burger has reached at least 160°F (70°C) in the center.
  • Toast hamburger buns on the grill rack while preparing the other ingredients.
  • Once the cheese has melted, take the burgers and buns off the grill, then proceed to construct the burgers.
