Chef John's indulgent bacon-wrapped hot dogs with fresh toppings are the perfect summer treat.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (2 ounce) hot dogs
  • 4 slices cold center-cut, thinly sliced bacon
  • 2 large hot dog buns
  • 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish, or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons diced red onion, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons diced tomato, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Lay one hot dog at the top edge of a bacon slice and roll to secure. Add another hot dog below the first, wrap bacon at an angle twice, tucking between the hot dogs. Continue wrapping with the second bacon slice and roll over the hot dogs. Repeat for the remaining hot dogs and bacon slices.
  • Preheat a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add bacon-wrapped hot dogs and cook until nicely browned on all sides, approximately 10 minutes, flipping occasionally.
  • Spread each bun with a generous 1 tablespoon of tangy mustard. Pile on the hot dogs, then top them with zesty dill pickle relish, crisp red onion, and juicy tomato.
