Indulge in creamy cheese over tender pasta for the ultimate comfort dish!
Ingredients:
  • 7 oz uncooked penne pasta (rounded 2 cups)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F, then prepare and boil pasta according to package instructions.
  • As the pasta cooks, melt butter over gentle heat in a 3-quart saucepan. Add flour, seasoned salt, mustard, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir continuously until smooth and bubbling; then, remove from heat. Pour in milk and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute before removing from heat. Using a wire whisk, blend in cheese until melted.
  • Carefully fold the pasta into the creamy cheese sauce. Transfer the mixture into four ungreased 8-oz ramekins/gratin dishes or 10-oz custard cups. Arrange the filled cups in a shallow baking pan or on a rimmed cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbling.
