Pork chops topped with baked apples, onions, and a luscious sauce made of chicken stock, applesauce, and ketchup.
Ingredients:
  • 6 pork chops
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 2 cups applesauce
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon black cherry balsamic vinegar
  • 1 pinch garlic pepper seasoning
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and sliced
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the pork chops until golden, seasoning generously with salt and pepper, approximately 5 minutes on each side. Transfer the pork chops to a spacious ceramic casserole dish.
  • Combine applesauce, chicken stock, ketchup, brown sugar, flour, vinegar, and garlic pepper in the skillet with the pork juices. Cook until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth, approximately 5 minutes. Top the pork chops with sliced onion, apple, and the applesauce mixture.
  • Roast in the oven until the pork reaches 145°F (63°C), around 45 minutes.
