Pan-fried pork chops baked with sauerkraut, apple, onion, and brown sugar for a delicious twist.
Ingredients:
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 tablespoon oil, or as needed
  • 1 (20 ounce) can sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 apple - peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 tablespoon caraway seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased casserole dish.
  • Season pork chops with a generous amount of salt and pepper. Pan-fry them in hot oil until beautifully browned, about 5-7 minutes per side. Transfer the golden pork chops to the awaiting casserole dish.
  • Mix together sauerkraut, apple, onion, brown sugar, and caraway seeds, then top pork chops with the mixture and cover with foil.
  • Roast pork chops in a preheated oven until cooked through, around 45 minutes, reaching an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) when tested with an instant-read thermometer in the center.
