Indulge in gooey chocolate-banana-stuffed pillows of heavenly sweetness.
Ingredients:
  • 150.00 gm self-raising flour
  • 35g butter
  • 54.00 gm maple syrup
  • 41.20 gm milk
  • 1 banana, sliced into 12 rounds
  • 40g dark chocolate, cut into 12 cubes
  • Thickened cream, to serve
  • 20g butter
  • 90.00 gm brown sugar
  • 84.38 gm maple syrup
  • 21.00 gm lemon juice
Instructions:
  • 1. In a large bowl, combine flour and butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. 2. Whisk golden syrup and milk together, then add to the flour mixture. 3. Mix with a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms. 4. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions (1 level tablespoon each). 5. With floured hands, press each portion into a 5cm round. 6. Place a piece of banana and chocolate in the center of each round and pinch edges to seal filling inside. 7. Roll each portion into a ball, ensuring the filling is completely enclosed.
  • In a large saucepan over low heat, combine butter, sugar, maple syrup, lemon juice, and 1 cup cold water. Stir and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to bring to a boil, then reduce to medium. Gently place dumplings into the syrup (they will only be partly submerged). Cover and simmer for 15 minutes until dumplings are puffed and fully cooked. Serve with syrup and cream.
