Indulgent chocolate chip banana bread scones - perfect for a quick treat!
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup cold butter or margarine
  • 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped ripe banana (about 1 medium)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons turbinado sugar (raw sugar)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to a toasty 400°F and line a generously sized 17x12-inch half-sheet pan with non-stick cooking parchment paper.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Gently fold in chocolate chips and banana, followed by buttermilk until dough comes together.
  • Drop 2 tablespoonfuls of dough onto pan, spacing them 1 inch apart. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar for a sweet crunch.
  • Bake for 12 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then transfer from pan to a cooling rack. Serve while still warm.
