Transform your Irish meal with savory Parmesan-dipped soda bread squares.
Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 0.33333334326744 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup milk, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) while lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. Beat eggs in a bowl and set aside, then place Parmesan cheese in a shallow bowl.
  • Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a bowl until well mixed. Gradually add milk, a few tablespoons at a time, to create a soft dough. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth.
  • Flatten the dough into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle, and slice it into 2x3-inch squares. Coat each square with beaten egg and dip the top in Parmesan cheese before placing them on the baking sheet.
  • Bake until squares are golden brown, approximately 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
