Easy, tasty pizza dough recipe to ditch takeout. Pair with fresh salad for a healthy meal. Recipe easily doubles for larger batch.
Ingredients:
  • 800 g strong white bread flour
  • 200 g fine ground semolina flour or strong white bread flour
  • 1 level teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2 x 7 g sachets of dried yeast
  • 1 tablespoon golden caster sugar
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil
  • olive oil
  • 1 x 400 g tin of plum tomatoes
  • 85 g mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • For the dough, combine the flours and 1 level teaspoon of sea salt on a clean surface, create a well in the center. Mix yeast and sugar with 650ml lukewarm water, let sit for a few minutes, then pour into the well. Gradually mix in the flour with a fork until a dough forms. Use your hands to shape it into a ball, then knead for 10 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 45 minutes. For the sauce, sauté garlic and basil stalks in 1 tablespoon of oil until fragrant. Add basil leaves, tomatoes, salt, and cook for 20 minutes until smooth. Season to taste. To assemble the pizzas, divide the dough in half. Roll out each half into 4 balls, let rest for 15 minutes. Roll each ball into a thin circle, place on oiled and floured tin foil. Top with sauce, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Bake at 250°C/500°F for 7-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
