Moist and flavorsome traditional bread stuffing with white bread, pork sausage, celery, onions, and sage seasoning.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 6 stalks chopped celery
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 (1 pound) loaves day-old white bread, torn into small pieces
  • 1.5 teaspoons sage seasoning mixture
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large deep skillet, brown the pork sausage over medium-high heat until cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside after draining excess fat.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add celery and onions; cook and stir until tender.
  • Combine sausage, celery, onions, bread, sage, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Stir in eggs and chicken broth until stuffing mixture is moist but not mushy.
  • Spread the stuffing evenly in the baking dish. Bake in the oven until the top is golden brown and crispy, about 1 hour.
