Stovetop to oven pulled chicken, ready in under an hour for your perfect BBQ sauce pairing.
Ingredients:
  • 3 pounds bone-in chicken breast halves, with skin
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 0.5 cup barbeque sauce, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Dry the chicken breasts with a paper towel and then generously season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • In a large nonstick skillet, warm the oil over medium heat, then sear the chicken skin-side down until golden, about 2 to 3 minutes. Flip and brown the other side for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Cover the skillet and let it bake in the preheated oven until the thermometer reads 160°F (71°C near the bone), for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Take out of the oven. Move chicken to a cutting board, cover with foil, and allow it to rest for about 10 minutes until it's cool to the touch. The residual heat will bring the internal temperature to 165°F (74°C).
  • Shred the chicken using 2 forks after removing and discarding the skin and bones.
  • Drizzle with savory barbecue sauce before serving while warm.
