Impress your guests with a flavorful Asian beef and basil stir-fry in savory black bean sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm peanut oil
  • 500g No Added Hormones Beef Rump Steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 red onion, cut into wedges
  • 5cm-piece ginger, peeled, cut into matchsticks
  • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 40.00 ml Chinese cooking wine
  • 125ml black bean sauce
  • 1 bunch baby buk choy, quartered
  • 75g cashew
  • 125.00 ml basil leaves
  • 450g pkt microwavable jasmine rice
Instructions:
  • In a hot wok, stir-fry one quarter of the beef in 1 tsp of peanut oil until browned. Transfer to a bowl and repeat with the remaining beef in 3 more batches using the remaining oil.
  • In a wok or pan, heat the sesame oil over high heat. Add the onion, ginger, and garlic, stir-fry until light golden, about 2 mins. Pour in the wine and bring to a boil. Add the beef, black bean sauce, and bok choy, and stir-fry until the bok choy begins to wilt, about 2-3 mins. Remove from heat, toss in the cashews and basil, and combine well.
  • Microwave the rice as instructed on the packet, then serve into bowls and garnish with the beef stir-fry.
