Beef and Bean Dinner

Savory beef and bean casserole, ready in an hour.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 5 slices bacon
  • 1 can (15 to 16 ounces) lima beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 to 16 ounces) butter beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 to 16 ounces) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (28 ounces) baked beans
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, cook beef and onion for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Drain any excess fat. Transfer the beef mixture to a 3-quart casserole dish.
  • Fry bacon in the skillet over low heat for 7 to 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until it is crispy and brown. Then, transfer to paper towels to drain, allow to cool, and then crumble it.
  • Mix beans, brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce with beef in a casserole dish. Sprinkle with bacon. Bake covered for 40 to 45 minutes until hot and bubbly.
