Easy beef teriyaki with sirloin strips, broccoli, and a rich soy-brown sugar sauce for quick weeknight dinners.
Ingredients:
  • 1.6666669845581 cups water
  • 1.5 cups uncooked glutinous white rice
  • 1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, bring water and rice to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Combine broth, cornstarch, soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic powder in a bowl and whisk until smooth while the rice finishes cooking.
  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until sizzling. Brown the beef until cooked through and no juices remain, around 3 to 4 minutes. Add broccoli and cornstarch mixture, bringing it to a boil. Simmer until the mixture thickens to perfection.
  • Spoon the delicious dish over a bed of steaming hot rice.
