Quick and tasty beef in zesty pepper sauce, done in 30 minutes - perfect for a speedy, satisfying meal!
Ingredients:
  • 1-lb beef top sirloin steak, about 3/4 inch thick
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 3/4 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • Coarsely ground pepper
Instructions:
  • Trim excess fat from the beef. Place the beef between plastic wrap or wax paper and tenderize by pounding it with a meat mallet or rolling pin. Cut the beef into 4 serving pieces.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, water, and soy sauce until smooth; set aside.
  • Prepare a sizzling 10-inch skillet with a delightful mist of cooking spray and heat it over medium-high heat. Sear the beef in the skillet for 3 minutes, flipping it once. Toss in the bell pepper and onion. Introduce the ketchup mixture with a gentle stir, then lower the heat to low. Cover and let it gently simmer for 12 minutes. Tenderly remove the beef from the skillet and keep it snug and warm.
  • Stir ground pepper into sauce in skillet and bring to a boil. Simmer for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce slightly thickens. Pour over beef before serving.
