Succulent steaks marinated in irresistible beer and black pepper.
Ingredients:
  • 20.00 ml cracked black pepper
  • 4 beef sirloin steaks
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • 127.50 gm beef stock
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 250.00 ml stout or dark beer
  • Oven fries, to serve
  • Green salad, to serve
Instructions:
  • Coat steaks generously with pepper on both sides, using your fingertips for an even distribution. Arrange in a single layer in a shallow dish.
  • Prepare the flavorful marinade by blending together garlic and beer. Drizzle the mixture over the steaks and cover them before placing in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour, or marinate for up to 24 hours, flipping them occasionally. Take the steaks out of the fridge 15 minutes before cooking.
  • Prepare a heavy-based frying pan with a spritz of oil and heat on medium-high. Drain the steaks, keeping the marinade aside. Gently dry the steaks with a paper towel. Cook the steaks in batches of 2 for 4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Place the cooked steaks on a plate and tent loosely with foil.
  • Transfer the marinade to a frying pan and add stock. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is reduced. Serve over steaks alongside fries and salad.
