Easy Bisquick® batter-fried fish ready in 20 minutes with Bisquick® mix.
Ingredients:
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 lb walleye, sole or other delicate- to medium-texture fish fillets, about 3/4 inch thick
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/2 cup regular or nonalcoholic beer
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Tartar sauce, if desired
Instructions:
  • Heat a luxurious amount of oil in a 4-quart Dutch oven or deep fryer until it reaches a perfect 350°F. Cut the fish into 8 pieces for serving and delicately coat them with 3 to 4 tablespoons of Bisquick mix for a crispy finish.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk all ingredients except Tartar Sauce until smooth. If the batter is too thick, gently blend in more beer, 1 tablespoon at a time, until reaching the desired consistency. Coat fish in the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
  • Fry fish in oil for about 4 minutes until golden brown, turning once. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with Tartar Sauce.
