Salty-sweet beer and brown sugar coated nuts - the ultimate addictive party snack.
Ingredients:
  • 250g (2 cups) raw mixed nuts
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) beer
  • 100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
  • 1.20 gm table salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, optional
  • Bought salted popcorn, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan forced. Line a large rimmed baking tray with foil and spray with oil. Transfer the nuts to a large heatproof bowl.
  • In a small saucepan, mix beer and sugar, stirring over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 12 minutes until it thickens and reduces to 1/2 cup.
  • Drizzle mixture onto nuts, then sprinkle with salt and cayenne pepper if desired. Gently stir until fully coated. Allow to rest for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until nuts are evenly coated.
  • Place the mixture onto the prepared tray. Bake for 20 minutes, making sure to stir and turn it twice during cooking. Allow it to cool completely. Store the treats in an airtight container. Enjoy with some salted popcorn.
