Elevate your 4th of July party with festive chocolate brownies topped with white chocolate drizzle.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, or as needed
  • 0.66666668653488 cup unsalted butter
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.33333334326744 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups white chocolate chips, divided
  • 3 drops red food coloring, or as desired
  • 3 drops blue food coloring, or as desired
  • 3 tablespoons red and blue candy-coated milk chocolate pieces (such as M&M's®), or as desired, divided
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), then prepare a 9-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper and greasing the paper with vegetable oil.
  • Microwave butter until melted in a safe bowl. Mix in sugar, cocoa powder, water, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Combine eggs with batter to create a shiny mixture. Quickly fold in flour until fully incorporated. Transfer batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25-35 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Take out of the oven and allow to cool for a minimum of 30 minutes. Then, chill in the refrigerator until completely cooled, about another 30 minutes.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Stir until smooth and creamy like yogurt.
  • Mix the red food coloring into the white chocolate chips until you achieve your desired hue.
  • Take the brownies out of the refrigerator. Drizzle red-colored chocolate in a stripe over the top. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon each of red and blue candy-coated chocolate pieces before the chocolate sets.
  • Melt 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth, stirring well.
  • Mix the blue food coloring into the white chocolate chips until you achieve your desired color. Spread the mixture on top of the brownies for a second decorative stripe. Finish by sprinkling 1 tablespoon of candy-coated chocolate pieces on top.
  • Melt the remaining 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth. Spread over the brownies to create a third stripe. Sprinkle with the remaining tablespoon of candy-coated chocolate pieces.
  • Chill brownies in the refrigerator for a minimum of 30 minutes to set the chocolate.
