Irresistible apple cake bursting with walnuts and cinnamon: moist, quick, and easy.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1.25 cups vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 apples, thinly sliced
  • 1.5 cups finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup finely chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, mix oil, white sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Gently mix the flour mixture into the sugar mixture, then carefully fold in apples and 1 1/2 cups walnuts. Transfer the batter to a 10x13-inch baking dish and bake.
  • Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour until set, then make several holes on the surface using a large fork.
  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, and milk. Microwave on high until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture boils, approximately 2 1/2 minutes. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of walnuts over the hot cake and pour the brown sugar mixture on top.
