Flaky, tender pie crust with perfect flour-to-shortening ratio for easy and delicious baking.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup cold water
Instructions:
  • Combine shortening, flour, and salt until the mixture is very crumbly using a fork or a pastry blender. Gradually add water to bind the mixture together, then gently mix with a fork.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface slightly larger than your pie plate. Carefully fold it in half, transfer to the plate, and unfold. Gently press the dough into the pan. Trim the excess dough with a small knife, leaving about half an inch hanging over the edge. Fold it under and crimp the edges to create a raised crust.
