Elevate your spritz cookie dough with brown sugar, spices for irresistible holiday treats!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, cut into pieces
  • 0.75 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons colored decorating sugar, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) for the perfect bake.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy using an electric mixer for 3 to 5 minutes. Beat in the egg yolks one at a time for 15 seconds each. Mix in cream cheese until well combined. Add nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt, beat until fully mixed. Gently fold in the flour until just incorporated.
  • Load a cookie press with dough and create cookies in your desired shape on ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with colored sugar for added charm.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Repeat with the remaining dough.
