Family-favorite cookies passed down from grandma.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavored extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.5 cups chopped black walnuts
Instructions:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in the egg along with the desired flavoring. Mix in the flour and baking powder mixture dissolved in a few drops of water. Stir in the nuts until well combined.
  • Divide the dough into thirds and shape each into a log. Chill in the refrigerator until firm (approximately 1 hour).
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Slice the logs into delicate cookies and bake for 9 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful light brown color.
