English-inspired crumble dessert with tart green apples and sweet blackberries - a perfect family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 3 large green apples, peeled and cored
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar, or more to taste
  • 0.5 pound fresh blackberries, or more to taste
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup unsalted butter, slightly softened
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Thinly slice apples and combine them in a saucepan with water and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. Add blackberries and adjust sweetness to taste. Ensure apples are well coated with blackberry juice. Cook for 3 more minutes until slightly runny. Transfer mixture to a 2-quart casserole dish and let cool briefly.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend flour, sugar, and butter for crumble topping until it resembles bread crumbs. Spread the crumble topping evenly over the fruit.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until beautifully golden, for about 20-25 minutes.
