Impress guests with a blackberry sangria cobbler - a divine dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 8 cups fresh blackberries (three 12-oz containers)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup red sangria
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly coat a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Combine blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, 1 tablespoon butter, and sangria in a 3-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, remove from heat and cover to keep warm.
  • Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl. In a medium bowl, beat 3 tablespoons of butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer until well blended. Gradually mix in flour mixture and milk, beating until just blended. Pour the batter into a baking dish.
  • Using a slotted spoon, delicately place blackberries on top of the batter without mixing them in. Drizzle the syrup from the saucepan over the blackberries. Put the baking dish on a cookie sheet on the lower oven rack.
  • Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 325°F and bake for an additional 25 minutes. Serve warm.
