Seared tuna steaks with zesty mango salsa - a stunning and flavorful dish.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tuna steaks
  • 1 fresh mango - peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 0.5 Spanish onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1.5 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
  • Combine olive oil, lime juice, and garlic in a bowl. Massage the mixture onto the tuna steaks. Transfer the steaks to a sealed container and refrigerate for 3 hours.
  • In a bowl, mix together mango, bell pepper, Spanish onion, green onion, cilantro, and jalapeno pepper. Stir in lime juice and 1 1/2 teaspoons of olive oil. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
  • Combine paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, pepper, thyme, basil, oregano, and garlic powder in a bowl. Take the tuna steaks out of the refrigerator, rinse gently with water, and coat each side with the spice mixture.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, warm 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Carefully place the tuna steaks in the oil and cook for 3 minutes. Transfer the tuna to a plate. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the skillet and heat. Return the tuna to the skillet with the uncooked side down and cook for another 3 minutes. Remove from heat right away.
  • Divide the mango salsa equally onto 4 plates. Place a tuna steak on top of each salsa-filled plate and serve right away.
