Apple, blue cheese, and lettuce burger. Juicy and savory twist on a classic with a fruity crunch.
Ingredients:
  • 750 g quality minced chuck steak (see tip)
  • 1 soft round lettuce
  • 1 punnet of cress
  • 2 Braeburn or Cox apples
  • 120 g blue cheese
  • olive oil
  • 6 burger buns
  • American mustard
Instructions:
  • Prepare the burgers ahead of time by dividing the mince into 4 portions and shaping them into smooth, slightly larger than bun-sized patties. Chill in the fridge. Before cooking, prep your toppings by washing lettuce, cutting cress, slicing apples, and crumbling blue cheese. Preheat the grill and fry the burgers for 4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, seasoning with black pepper. Toast the buns and top the cooked burgers with blue cheese, then melt under the grill. Assemble the burgers with salad leaves, apples, mustard, and cress, then serve immediately.
