Irresistibly delicious sugar cookies, perfect for Christmas, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and loved by all.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 teaspoons lemon extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup white sugar for decoration
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
  • Mix the butter, oil, confectioners' sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla, and lemon extracts. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients until fully combined.
  • Shape dough into walnut-sized balls. Place on baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Flatten to 1/8 inch thickness with a sugar-dipped glass. Feel free to use colored sugar if skipping frosting later.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 12 minutes until edges turn golden brown. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
