Transform fresh blueberries with alcohol, lemon zest, and cloves into a delectable blueberry liqueur after 4 months of aging in a dark spot.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package frozen blueberries, thawed
  • 0.5 lemon, zested
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1.5 cups vodka
  • 0.75 cup simple syrup
Instructions:
  • Mash thawed blueberries with a fork, then transfer to a sterilized 1-quart jar. Add lemon zest, cloves, and vodka. Seal the jar and age in a cool, dark place for 3 months, gently shaking every few days.
  • After 3 months, remove and discard blueberries. Strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a sterilized 1-quart jar. Add simple syrup, seal tightly, and shake until syrup dissolves. Age in a cool, dark place for at least 1 more month.
  • Strain liquid once more through cheesecloth and transfer to attractive bottles.
