Irresistible Brussels sprouts with bacon and wine even haters will love.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 0.5 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 2 tablespoons powdered chicken bouillon
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Chardonnay wine
Instructions:
  • In a large pot over medium-high heat, melt butter with olive oil. Sauté onion and garlic in the butter mixture until translucent, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add Brussels sprouts and continue sautéing until lightly browned on the edges, about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Add crispy bacon, savory chicken bouillon, spicy red pepper flakes, and aromatic black pepper to the Brussels sprouts mixture. Cook until fragrant, approximately 2 minutes. Then, incorporate the wine.
  • Lower the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer until the Brussels sprouts reach your preferred level of tenderness, which should take about 10 to 15 minutes.
