Tender cabbage cooked in butter with caraway seeds, onion, vinegar, and sugar - a delicious side dish for any roast.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter, or more to taste
  • 0.5 head cabbage, cored and cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 0.5 onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté cabbage and onion until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour water into the pot, then add vinegar, sugar, caraway seeds, and salt. Simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender, about 20-25 minutes.
